What is Craigslist?

Craigslist is a centralized network of online communities, featuring free online classified advertisements – with sections devoted to jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, gigs, resumes, and discussion forums. It has become such a popular resource for finding local jobs, products, services, and information. It is almost completely free to use and you dont even need an account. Craigslist only charges a small fee to post jobs, and they only charge it in a few locations. But most Craigslist posting is free.

Craig Newmark started it in 1995, as an email distribution list of friends, featuring local events in San Fransisco. Now it gets over 20 billion page views per month.
